Hydro Tasmania
Hydro Tasmania needed an efficient and safe water sampling system; Nero Mia was the solution.

Taz Drone Solutions has been working with Hyrdro Tasmania to sample its many catchment areas throughout the year with Nero Mia to gain valuable insight in the fraction of the time.
Brief
Hydro Tasmania was looking for a solution to increase its efficiency when conducting water sampling of its many bodies of water, while improving the safety of personnel and ensuring more effort is focused on the response to the data rather than capturing the data.
Hydro Tasmania worked with Taz Drone Solutions to bring its needs to life through the use of Nero Mia.
Solution
Taz Drone Solutions landed on the Nero Mia water sampler as the solution of choice. Nero Mia is simple in design, allowing for samples of up to 2 litres to be taken at a single time and integrates directly into the DJI Matrice 600 (M600) drone with native control functionality.
Nero Mia also allowed Hydro Tasmania to remove the need for a minimum of two employees and a boat to be deployed every time a sample needed to be collected as samples need to be collected a certain distance from the shore. Saving in setup time, fuel costs, and reducing the operational impact on the environment.
This year our environment team has a new member... A drone is used to cut down on time and effort to sample water from our lakes, collecting two litres of water in less than two minutes. Talk about efficiency!

Result
Having successfully evaluated Nero Mia with Taz Drone Solutions, Hydro Tasmania chose to continue using it to sample surface water across its catchment aeras to ensure the cleanliness of the bodies of water and the health of native species that call the various bodies of water home.
Nero Mia has allowed Hydro Tasmania to improve the efficiency of its water sampling and monitoring program, removing the need for two employees and a boat to be deployed for each sample. As an added benefit the Hydro Tasmania team has are able to focus more of their time on responding and adapting to changes quickly without the need to worry about sample reliability.
